Beavers kick off eight-game homestand Monday against Tucson

After a difficult road trip, the Portland Beavers return to PGEPark for an eight-game homestand this Monday, featuring an appearance byHall-of-Famer Jim Palmer and more great giveaways.

Highlighting the homestand is an appearance on June 15 by former Baltimore Oriolespitcher Jim Palmer. Palmer, the only pitcher to earn a World Series victory in threedifferent decades, will be at PGE Park as part of "Strike Out High Cholesterol," anational cholesterol education campaign, courtesy of Merck/Schering-Plough and Men'sHealth Network. Palmer, who was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in1990, will sign autographs for the first 200 fans at the start of the game, throwout the ceremonial first pitch, and join play-by-play broadcaster Rich Burk on thegame's radio broadcast on KKAD AM-1550.

Little League Weekend presented by Zenner's and Re/Max will be celebrated onSaturday, June 17, and Sunday, June18, featuring giveaways and an appearance by theSpitball Gang. Youth replica jerseys will be given to the first 1,500 kids 14 andunder at both games, and a clown and a face painter will be roaming throughout thestadium on Saturday.

Bring your dad to the game on Sunday to celebrate Father's Day with the Beavers. Onelucky dad will win a trip to a Mariners game and kids will be able to get autographsfrom some of their favorite Beavers before the game and run the bases after thegame.
