As reported by the Plain Dealer: "Two efforts to land slot-machine parlors are now competing for signatures in Ohio.
"A Cincinnati group reported late yesterday afternoon that it has the state's approval to circulate petitions for a November slots proposal.
"Queen City Gaming Entertainment Inc. wants to change the Ohio Constitution to allow slots parlors at the state's seven horse tracks, two sites in Cleveland and one in Cincinnati.
"The group needs to gather about 323,000 valid signatures by Aug. 9 to make the November ballot.
"A competing proposal from the Ohio Learn and Earn Committee already has some 200,000 signatures, said spokesman David Hopcraft…"
