As reported by Forbes: "The change of locale from jail cell to classy hotel must be a gratifying one for David Carruthers, the jilted former boss of online betting firm BetOnSports, who was found shuffling into a court room on Wednesday in leg irons and hand cuffs.
"…Carruthers, who was fired by BetOnSports shortly after the company was charged by federal prosecutors for racketeering and fraud charges, has been freed on a $1 million bond, which authorities insist did not come from BetOnSports.
"Joseph Kelly, a business law professor and expert in
online gambling, said it was likely that Carruthers' attorney was negotiating with prosecutors to work out a plea bargain.
