"Le Reve's" 360-degree aquatic
theatre has dazzled audiences for 365 days by submerging them into a dream
where tales of love, adventure and mystery are staged with flawless
virtuosity. With the furthest seat a mere 40 feet from the stage at Las
Vegas' only theatre in-the-round, "Le Reve" at Wynn
Las Vegas is one of the
most intimate, physical performances on the Strip. Directed by
world-renowned Franco Dragone, "Le Reve" delivers a feast for the senses by
utilizing the sounds, colors and imagery of elements, especially air and
water.
* Examine the technical splendor of "Le Reve" and its components -- There
are 6,000 custom made sound effects created for the show, 60 are in
use. The cables used to fly performers and set pieces are the same
used in aircraft. The pool is webbed with 10 miles of underwater
lighting cable that powers hundreds of lights that create vibrant
colors and a surreal atmosphere.
* Discover the underwater realm of "Le Reve," the show under the show --
With center stage being 1.1 million gallons of water; the performers
use more than 800 towels to dry off every night. Sixteen scuba divers
per show provide safety to the performers as well as guiding them to
regulators and off "stage."
* Uncover the wardrobe anomalies of "Le Reve's" wet costumes -- For the
wear and tear of rigorous wet performances two times a night five
nights a week, the performers' costumes take a beating. There are 14
technicians that run the costume shop repairing costumes, shoes, wigs
and masks. The costumes used in the water only last two weeks before
they are salvaged.
* Explore the balance of cultural diversity at "Le Reve." With 81
performers from 16 countries, communication and synergy can prove to be
challenging. The cast and crew of "Le Reve" have found this balance,
perfected it and put all political and cultural differences aside to
come together and create something beautiful.
