Jazz Legend Pete Fountain Hits the Hollywood Stage

World famous jazz legend Pete Fountain will take the stage again for the first time in more than a year beginning Friday, October 27th at Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis officials announced today. Fountain will perform with his longtime band every Friday and Saturday night in Hollywood Casino's Oak Royale Room. The $20 tickets include 2 free drinks and go on sale October 23rd.

Fountain packed the Oak Royale room two nights a week prior to Hurricane Katrina, when the property was known as Casino Magic Bay St. Louis. "We fully expect a packed house for Pete's return and have asked him to perform for two private occasions prior to his public debut in our new land-based casino," said John Jagunich, Hollywood president and general manager. "At only $20 per person including two cocktails, tickets will sell out early, so we urge guests to buy their tickets in advance," said Jagunich.

It's been a tough year for the legendary jazz musician. He lost his Bay St. Louis home to Hurricane Katrina, underwent a quadruple bypass in March and has suffered other health problems throughout the summer. "The show must go on. We're in Hollywood now," said Fountain. "This is just another step to recovery as we rebuild our community. I wouldn't think of being anywhere else," said Fountain.

Hollywood Casino opened late August with the Hollywood Hotel offering 291 guest rooms, 900 new slot machines, 20 unique table games, and a new 6-table poker room. Three restaurants are open including, Tuscany Steaks and Seafood, Jackpot Java, and the all new Epic Buffet. The Bridges Grill is under renovations and will open later this year. The fully renovated casino operation land-based, facility has 17,000 square feet of function space and three private meeting rooms.
