Atlantic City casinos host slots tournament

As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "One gambler boasted that he was feeling lucky. Another thought she was a longshot. And a third said she would leave it up to the Lord to decide the outcome.

"But in the end, what it really comes down to is random chance — the pull of a slot machine and the hope that a winning combination flashes on the screen.

"The prize is a $1 million jackpot in a winner-takes-all slots tournament at Resorts Atlantic City and its sister property, the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort. Qualifying began Monday and will continue every day leading up to the grand finale on Nov. 25 at the Hilton.

"One winner will be awarded a 25-year annuity worth a million bucks or will have the option of taking an immediate cash payout of $500,000, said Phil Juliano, regional senior vice president of marketing for Resorts and the Hilton.
