The Trojans have become one of the nations college football powerhouses the past few seasons, but it appears their title hopes went up in flames after losing to Oregon State on Saturday.
USC entered the game ranked #3 in the BCS polls but many around the country felt that the ranking was an aboration after some close calls this season.
On Saturday, the Beavers scored early and often and built a three touchdown lead, howver the Trojans, as they have done all season, battled back, only to see their two point conversion fall short.
USC had their title hopes almost completely destroyed because the teams behind them in the rankings all won and will almost positively jump over them in the new BCS poll on Sunday.
California appears to have the inside track on the Pac Ten title as they sit alone at the top of the standings and are undefeated in conference play, howver they do have a huge showdown with the Trojans later in the season.
