Mega Millions Ticket Wins $34 Million

Mega Millions players are checking their tickets after Friday's drawing, because somewhere there is a ticket worth an estimated $34 million. That ticket, which was purchased in La Quinta, California, matched the winning numbers 27-30-36-38-45 and the Mega Ball number 13 in the June 16, 2006 drawing.

That ticket was not the only winner in Friday's drawing. A total of 471,910 other tickets won prizes, including two tickets that each won $250,000. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in New York and Ohio.

The jackpot for the Tuesday, June 20, 2006 Mega Millions drawing is $12 million.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
