Tennessee had high hopes coming into this season, if not a national title, then at least a shot at getting back to the top of the SEC, now those goals are in focus as they try to go on the road and defeat a tough Alabama team today.
Alabama has been a team that not many knew what to expect out of this season. They lured Nick Saban away from the NFL and the Miami Dolphins, and hoped he could work magic with a once proud program that has been down the past few years.
Early in the year, the Crimson Tide looked strong, but after a couple of tough losses, they are doing some soul searching, and hoping they can get back on track with an upset victory at home against Tennessee.
The Volunteers have rebounded nicely since losing to the Gators, and now if they can take care of business the rest of the way, they could find themselves in the SEC championship
game, which would be a welcome change for a program that has struggled the past few seasons.
While people in Miami despise Saban, the Alabama faithful has put full trust in him, and winning a game like this will go a long way towards keeping that trust.
Game time is set for 12:30 Eastern, and while the game is not on national television, it will be shown on PPV on ESPN Gameplan.
