West Virginia And Rutgers Suddenly A Top Big East Match Up

West Virginia was a popular pick before the season started to be the team that represents the Big East in not only the BCS, but the national championship game. Now, after losing early in the year, the Mountaineers seem to have regained championship form and are ready for a title run.

Rutgers was another of those teams that people felt could make a strong case for being one of the nations best. They had a Heisman hopeful in Ray Rice, and everyone felt after being a Cinderella team last year, that they were ready to take the next step.

They have not, and now after playing sloppy football for a better part of the season, they must protect their home turf and beat West Virginia to keep their BCS hopes alive.

The Mountaineers do not need extra motivation for such a big game, but if they did, they could just look at their #7 ranking and realize they are just a few breaks away from playing for the national title if they can do their part.

The game will be played in New Jersey, and that should help a Scarlet Knights team that is looking to avenge a loss last year that could have cost them a BCS game birth.

Game time is set for 12:00 noon and the game will air on ABC
