Star City may have pushed the envelope too far in their negotiations with Sydney over their renewal of its ten year operating license, and now Sydney has decided to use a negotiating tactic of its own, bringing in a second casino.
James Packer's PBL is expecting that within the next few days he will receive confirmation that he will be issued a license to run a casino.
The license would probably not be issued for Sydney, but for neighboring Tween Heads, although Hunter Valley has also been mentioned for the casinos destination.
The addition of a
new casino seems to be a negotiating tactic that is being used against Tabcorp and their Star City license. The government is trying to get more money out of the Tabcorp group before renewing their license.
While the government has denied that any such negotiations have taken place with Packer, there are rumors circulating that an announcement on the addition of a second casino could come as early as tomorrow, though that has not been confirmed.
