The game of poker as it goes by legend has produced some deadly outcomes, but that scenario turned all to real Friday night as a former professor was shot dead at an illegal poker game in Manhattan.

The fifth floor of a commercial building on fifth avenue was the scene of a crime that was committed apparently with not much motive.

Frank DeSena of Wayne, New Jersey was the victim as a few men wearing ski masks crashed the illegal poker game that was being held.

The poker game was one that was popular among citizens of the middle to upper class, and there was a guard on the ground floor of the building in which the game was held.

Somehow, the gunmen still got in and opened fire, DeSena, was shot in the torso and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As of Saturday there were no arrests in the shooting, and as for the poker game, it apparently was going on for quite a while. Police were questioning people in the building on other floors, and one cop was supposedly heard by a man as saying, "It's like Atlantic City up there."

The victim was described by several people that knew him as a man who liked to play the game of poker and enjoyed games of chance, but they were all surprised that he was involved with the shady underground game.
