As reported by the New Hampshire Union-Leader: "The Attorney General's Office has cleared the Mississippi-based Torguson Gaming Group to conduct parimutuel wagering at the former Lakes Region Greyhound Park in Belmont.
"…The new ownership group is headed by hotel and
casino mogul Marlin Torguson. His firm purchased the track for about $4 million from the New Hampshire Gaming Association, headed by long-time track owner/operator Allan Hart, last September. Torguson applied for a racing license in December.
"The track has been closed since April 2005. Three months earlier, two employees of the former ownership were indicted in New York on illegal
gambling and money-laundering charges…"
