The online gambling industry has been missing many large land based gambling companies, but two of the biggest, MGM Mirage, and Harrah's Entertainment have hinted that they are prepared to enter the market when gambling online is legalized in the U.S.

Word around town is that Harrah's might not even wait for the U.S. government to come to their senses and regulate the online gambling industry. The company has checked into establishing their online presence in markets that currently allow online gambling, such as members of the European Union, and many Caribbean countries.

MGM Mirage has already tried their hand online. In 2001, the company set up a gaming site in the Isle of Man, but the site quickly failed. mostly due to their difficult process of registering players.

The company believes that the failure they experienced back then will help make their second efforts in online gaming successful.

Upon relaunching, the company will be much better equipped to deal with security issues such as, protecting problem gamblers, and determining their members age and location.

Both companies feel that the legalization of poker online will come before other casino games, but both will also be prepared, if, and when, the time comes that they will be allowed to launch their online gambling websites.
