In Ontario, Canada, a strong push is being made to allow sports books in the casinos. Proponents of the sports books claim that the addition of them into casinos will help revenues that are down.

More money is needed to be generated from the casinos, and the current economy is hurting the casinos. Sports books would give an added boost to the casinos until revenue can begin to come back up.

Opponents to the sports books in casinos are lining up to shoot down the idea. They claim that the country already has a bad problem with gambling addiction, and adding sports books could only worsen the problem.

Supporters of the sports gambling claim that something needs to be done quickly. "We should have a discussion about sports books and our casinos because they're in trouble," said Progressive Conservative Leader, John Tory.

While sports books are currently illegal in Canada, many people simply place their wagers in the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, and other countries that allow sports gambling.
