High rollers do not like to be around regular folks. If they are going to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars gambling, they want to do so in privacy where no one else can see.

Nevada has created gambling salon's for these high rollers. The salons are private places where high rollers can go and gamble with nobody around. Millions of dollars are spent in these salons.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board is proposing rule changes for these salons that would be beneficial to these high rollers. The Board is trying to ensure that Nevada keeps up with the rest of the world.

"What this (rule change) does is to relax the regulation without relaxing the appropriate regulatory oversight. Nevada casinos must be able to compete in a world market," said Randy Sayre, a Control Board member.

One of the changes that is being proposed is for the betting limit to be dropped from $500 to $300. That will be done so that the gamblers can fluctuate their bet through a run of cards instead of being locked into a $500 bet every time.

Gamblers under the new rules would also be allowed to enter the4 salon with $300,000 in cash as apposed to the current rule of $500,000 in cash. They still would need a combination of cash and credit of $500,000 to enter.
