Fred Segal, the Los Angeles fashion
landmark that has attracted the fashionable and famous for decades,
announced plans to open a store in the W Las Vegas Hotel, Casino &
Residences when it opens in 2009. Located at the corner of Harmon and
Koval, just 500 meters from the Las Vegas Strip, the W Las Vegas will
feature multiple destination dining and nightlife venues, a signature W
Hotel casino, a Bliss(R) Spa and now a 100,000 square foot Fred Segal
store.
Fred Segal has been a world famous shopping destination in Southern
California for more than four decades, and boasts a location in Santa
Monica by the Pacific Ocean.
"Fred Segal is the perfect partner for W's lifestyle," said Ross Klein,
President of W Hotels Worldwide. "The brands share the same sense of perky
pop culture and insider style making that has the world seeing us more as
an authority on what's hot than a place to sleep or shop."
Presence within the W Las Vegas will expand the Fred Segal experience,
which has a loyal following worldwide, to a new market and to W owners and
guests. W owners, who will be treated to Whatever/Whenever, W's 24 hour
concierge service and other signature hotel amenities, will now have access
to what is hailed as the high-fashion holy lands by the who's who of
Hollywood.
"When we started planning the W Las Vegas, we imagined Fred Segal not
just as our ideal retail partner, but the ideal idea, "said Reagan Silber,
co-chairman of Edge Group, who with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide
is the developer and owner of W Las Vegas. "The Fred Segal brand is more
than retail -- it is a lifestyle. With Fred and Michael Segal we will
create a spectacular and unique retail feeling and experience."
"We started Fred Segal more than 40 years ago and have had hundreds of
opportunities to expand the brand around the world. The decision for us to
be a part of the W Las Vegas is a significant one and speaks volumes about
the project that Edge and Starwood are building," said Fred and Michael
Segal. "We are looking forward to bringing the Fred Segal experie
