Board Chairperson Removed from Casino Hearings

As reported by the Gettysburg Times: "An Adams County Judge ordered the chairman of Straban Township's Zoning Hearing Board to recuse herself Thursday from further hearings on the casino application filed by Crossroads Gaming Resort and Spa, LP.

"The decision by Judge Michael George to force Gettysburg resident Marcy Kammerer to recuse herself was accompanied by a ruling which allows fellow board member Ed Gillespie to render a verdict on whether the casino can be placed at its proposed site.

"The court date was asked for by Crossroads representatives after they discovered Kammerer and Gillespie's names on petitions opposing the casino…"
