"The Prime Minister said he did not understand the controversy over Mr Prescott's relations with Philip Anschutz, the US billionaire owner of the Millennium Dome, who is bidding for the casino licence.
"Mr Blair rejected calls for an inquiry into Mr Prescott's links with Mr Anschutz and said the Deputy Prime Minister would stand in for him "as normal" when he goes on holiday next month.
"Mr Prescott faced questions yesterday after it emerged that - contrary to earlier denials - he had discussed plans for a super-casino at the site during trips to the US to see Mr Anschutz, the owner of the Anschutz Entertainment Group..."
