Pinnacle has been busy this year, with new laws going into effect regarding casino gambling, the company has been opening new casinos around the country.
In December, the company will open their latest project, the $507 million Lumiere Place in St. Louis, Missouri, and by the time it is complete, the casino will be a megaplex.

Governor Charlie Crist of Florida knew there would be some legal opposition when he signed a compact with the Seminole Indians allowing them Vegas style slots, baccarat, and blackjack.
On Monday, that opposition came knocking, in the form of a lawsuit that was filed in the Supreme Court by the Florida House and Speaker Marco Rubio.

Atlantic City used to be the East Coasts version of Las Vegas, in its glory days it attracted many high profile people, but now for the first time in 30 years, the city will see revenues decline.
While profits actually rose 3.6 percent in the third quarter for Atlantic City's 11 casinos, speculation continues that 2007 will be the first year since 1977 that there will be a drop in revenue.

The net loss was projected at 5.1 euros in the third quarter, and the gross gaming revenue dropped 11 percent to 86.2 million euros.

The state of New Mexico has decided to switch providers for their lottery system as they have entered into contract with Intralot for use of their new computerized gambling system.
The numbers that are involved in the deal are almost mind blowing when one considers that the lottery is put in place to generate money for states to use to balance their budgets.
The lottery will pay a base price to Intralot of 1.5 percent, which is $18.

The GM meetings are coming to a close and the baseball off season has gotten off to a slow start as, besides a few rumors of who is available to be traded, not much happened this week.
Alex Rodriguez is the big story of this off season and his agent Scott Boras did have a few meetings with GMs during the week, but these were just preliminary cordial talks before the real negotiations begin.
