Another delay in the U.S. v. Antigua & Barbuda negotiations regarding Antigua's claim for compensation has been extended yet again, the new date is December 14.
Mark Mendel, an attorney representing Antigua & Barbuda said that there has been an agreement to extend the time-frame for resolution of negotiations, which were originally scheduled to be completed in September, then delayed until October, and now it is December.

The Governor's race in Kentucky had the usual opposite stances on many key issues, but it was the casino gambling issue that pushed Governor elect Steve Beshear over the top.
Beshear has been pro gambling throughout his campaign, and his opponent, Republican Governor Ernie Fletcher ran his campaign with a "no casinos" idea. He claimed that casinos would cause bankruptcies, crime, and divorce, and unfortunately for him, voters did not agree.

Mark Mendel, winning trade attorney for Antigua & Barbuda in their WTO case against the United States - over a protectionist US Internet gambling law passed in late 2006 - said today that he expects a decision on their $3.4 billion per year compensation claim from a WTO panel on November 30th.
Mendel told the three person WTO panel that Antigua should be paid $3.4b per year in compensation from the US for lost revenues as a result of the new US prohibition.

When you win one of the events at the World Series of Poker there is not much need to participate in illegal card games, but for one former champion, the desire was too great as he was arrested in a police gambling raid on Friday.
Police received a tip on an illegal poker game and when they arrived, they proceeded to arrest 16 people, one of whom was Paul "Cigar" McKinney, an 82 year old man who as recently as two years ago won a WSOP event.

The racino would be in Washington County and would be run by the Passamaquoddy Indian Tribe. The tribe is working hard to get the referendum passed as they have 3,300 members, and half of them live on reservations in the county.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have now answered their critics as for the second consecutive week they have defeated a ranked conference opponent, and the result of their latest victory is the #1 ranking in the BCS standings.
Boston College became the latest in a growing number of #2 teams who cannot hold that ranking. The Eagles lost to Florida State on Saturday and the loss dropped them out of the top five in the BCS.

Not many people in America believe that the Ohio State Buckeyes are the best college football team in the nation, but then again, the only thing that counts is that the Buckeyes remain #1 in the BCS.
The journey to stay on top continues today for Ohio State as they face their second big test of the year. Last week, they pummeled a ranked Penn State team, but that was discredited by many who believe the Nittany Lions should not have been in the rankings.

The perception over the past few years has been that Peyton Manning was the best quarterback in football, but could not win the big game, and that Tom Brady was a excellent decision maker that won, but could not put up big numbers.

Traffic issues could keep the Las Vegas Sands Corp. to lose out in its bid to take over a Kansas City casino, as four development groups, not including Sands were recommended Friday by the planning staff for Wyandotte County's Unified Government.
The plan that was proposed by Sands include a $500 million casino and hotel, which would be a wonderful place to visit, except for the fact that the plan could cause some serious traffic issues at Interstate 435 and Leavenworth Road.

The NFL football season is flying by, and while many teams have been up and down this year, two of them have remained perfect, the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots, but on Sunday, one of these two unbeaten teams will fall.
A couple of big divisional games will be overshadowed by the Colts and Pats, but that will not change the fact that some of these games will go a long way in determining who wins divisions this season.

This was supposed to be a profitable endeavor when the Las Vegas Sands Co. expanded in the Macau market, but the third quarter numbers were released and the company showed a loss.
$48.5 million was the net loss in the third quarter for the Sands, and that equals out to 14 cents a share. Most of the losing happened as gamblers had good luck playing Baccarat and Blackjack in both Macau and Las Vegas.

The Governors plan would call for 70 percent of the gross gaming revenue to the government, and they would in turn distribute the money among education, the horse racing industry, and money would go to refurbishing tracks and to breeders.

U.S. Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne has delayed long enough according to the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe and now they want him to make a decision, so they have filed a federal lawsuit seeking answers.
At issue is the the tribe wanting to put into trust 30 acres of land for their proposed casino in the Catskills, but they submitted the application nearly nine months ago and still have not received an answer as of yet.
